SQL analysis of sales patterns
Goal: The goal of this project was to analyze the real profitability of e-commerce orders by going beyond revenue and integrating operational costs such as product purchase price and shipping expenses.
What I did: Using SQL in BigQuery, I combined sales transactions, product costs, and shipping data to calculate the true profit of each order. I then analyzed order-level profitability, product contribution to margin, and the impact of shipping costs on overall performance.
Outcome: The analysis reveals which orders and products generate the most profit, highlights items that sell well but reduce margins, and shows how shipping costs can significantly affect overall profitability.
